Karl Fischer Moisture Titrators

Q
How much moisture can be measured with an anolyte or a catholyte?
A

The moisture content that can be measured with KEM Karl Fischer reagents (KEM AQUA series) is as shown below. The KEM AQUA Anolyte AGE can measure 800 to 1000 mg of moisture per 100 mL. The KEM AQUA Catholyte CGE can measure 130 to 150 mg of moisture per 5 mL. (If the KEM AQUA Catholyte CGE is used in combination with the KEM AQUA Anolyte AKE, approximately 100 mg of moisture can be measured per 5 mL.) However, depending on the accumulation and characteristics of the sample, the reagent might need to be replaced even if the above-mentioned moisture content has not been reached. If the reagent deteriorates, the drift value will not lower, the results will not stabilize, repeatability will be reduced, and the catholyte will change color. If these are noted please replace the reagent. For the moisture content that can be measured with other brands of reagent, contact the manufacturer of the purchased reagent directly.
