Standard sample containers can withstand up to 2 or 3 atmospheres. At values higher than this, if the internal pressure rises, slow leaks will start from the packing (for polytetrafluoroethylene liquid-contact units). The sample container will not be damaged, but the gas produced inside the container might leak.
