For Newtonian fluids (samples in which the viscosity does not depend on the shear rate), there is a correlation with measurement values from other viscometers.
For non-Newtonian fluids (samples in which the viscosity does depend on the shear rate), a correlation can be observed if the capillary viscometer, rheometer, and the EMS-1000 are compared at the same shear rate.
Note: The shear rate tends to be smaller for EMS viscometers than for conventional viscometers. Please also refer to “Can a shear rate dependency be measured for low viscosity liquids such as milk?”
